Congratulations to Cris on being elected President of NCAA. An exciting time as we look to make the most of all of the hard work of Executive leading up to 2025.
I am looking forward to working with Cris and the ‘refreshed’ Exec in the continuation of my role as CEO of the Canberra Region Tourism Industry Council (CRTIC). There are some great things planned for the development and celebration of excellence for our visitor economy businesses this year and beyond. I will continue to represent the Region on the Australian Tourism Industry Council board so please do get in touch if there is any advocacy or initiative you would like to see progressed.

About 15 years ago when I worked at the CSIRO Discovery Centre, I hosted a meeting for the NCAA in our Theatrette where I was meeting for a first time a bunch of the people, I now consider friends. They spoke a foreign language, throwing around words like ‘famils’ and ‘commissionable product’ and there were more in-jokes than I knew how to process, particularly directed at the guy with the long curly hair. In the years since I’ve worked at a handful of the culturals, and as I’ve put my hand up to take on the President role this year, I’m keen to find a way to put my broad experience of how similarly passionate we all are about our city and our tourism offerings to good use.
